Basic layout/design
This blog contains a main page that contains a title, “My Life Blog” with a little search icon directly under it. Beneath that there is a black bar spacer and from the blog is sliced into two columns. The column to the left of the page consists of the most recent posts made by this blogger. On the right side of the page the second column breaks down the blog even more. Top being recent post, recent comments, archives with month and year categorization, categorizes for the various post made, (further breaks down the various posts into themed pages or content), and lastly a section labeled meta. The links for each post take you to the page with the full content. This main page also contains a small box in the bottom corner that moves with the screen as is scrolls that is a comment box. It looks like it sends them an email or message privately.
About page
There is a whole blogpost in which this author introduces himself, many aspects of this life and his hopes for his blog. He goes into quite a bit of information about his early life up to what he is doing now and where in the world he is. (He has traveled a LOT.) He also gives a bit of information regarding his belief systems and ideals. This information however is not clearly displayed. It cannot be found on the home page; you have to search in the search bar to find the post with information about the author.

This blog does not have any advertisements.

This blog is not connected to any other blogs or companies aside from WordPress, the site that it is on. He does talk about some nonprofits his wife and him work with but there are no links or direct connections to any websites or further information regarding these nonprofits.

No social media connections or links.
- Does the blog have comments available? Are there any comments? How many?
- Does the author offer any information regarding readership on her about page?
- Based on the content of the blog, who (specifically) would you expect to read this material? (think in terms of factors like: age, gender, race, occupation, hobbies)
52 Brand new
Basic layout/design
The basic layout of this blog seems similar no matter which page you are looking at. It has a large header with the title 52 Brand New, subheading, “on a mission to try 52 new experiences this year. Directly beneath that is the navigation bar that is consistent on each page. The rest of the page is separated into two columns. The column on the left contains the content of the page, whether it be a full post or the list of new experiences, which are hyperlinked to a blogpost that talks about the experience. This content is directly followed by the comments made about the posts. This blog also has pictures but they cannot be found with every post. The column to the right contains various navigating tools including, links to social media, an area to follow the blog with email, Top posts and Pages, archives with drop down menu by month, categories with drop down menu by category, links to parenting blogs and links to travel and adventure blogs.
About page
The blogger does not identify herself in regards to name and information about her life in this about page. I did notice however that she uses names in various posts, however never last names. She does reveal that she has children in this page’s content. This about page focuses on where the idea for this blog came from and how she wanted to try new things but also wanted to inspire other people to do the same.
Advertisments
There are no advertisements present on this page however there is a store page. This page contains a link to books used to plan adventures or come up with their new experiences so they can be bought.
Links to other sites/companies
This blog does not seem associated with other companies or celebrities. Therefore, this does not have an effect on the blog. I think that the links she does include to other sites are all sites that involve new adventure or content relating to parenting, which work to reinforce her reason for writing, which is to get more people doing things with and without their family.

Bucketlistly blog
Basic layout/design
This particular blog is interesting. It is on a website called Bucketlistly that help people build and achieve things on their bucket list. This particular blog is that of the website creator. It covers his life's travels and all the new experiences. The content also covers tips and advise for trying to accomplish your bucket list. So the main blog page is actually set up really nice with headers that are pictures from the trip that have captions that are the title of each blog. It is just one whole page and is not broken up into columns. The bottom of each blog post has information about viewership, comments, and where that particular blog has been shared. The layout is different because it is a blog page within another website so it is really just a single page, though it does have navigation options for pictures and videos that tie to the blog.
About page
Since this blog is a part of a website it does not have a distinctive about page, the about page really just talks about what the website is about. At the very bottom of the page there is a link to who designed the website. If you click on it you are taken to a page that talks about the man who created this page, very briefly. This brief description page had links to other information about him as well. I wish it was easier to see a little bit more about him but the content in is blog reveal things about him as he moves through the years and through his various activities. Even though this is specifically about new experience in travel I think that it is also helpful in the tips and advice for accomplishing new experiences, which is the topic of my blog.
Advertisements
There are no advertisements besides the advertisement to join the website and create a bucket list. However within the blog you can find some linked advertisement.
Links to other sites/companies
The links to other sites include other sites that this particular designer has created as well. He links both his sites together because the content relate to one another. He also adds a section that says other interesting links that link to other pages. None of them are necessarily companies or anything. He seems to keep it an individual thing. I feel it makes this blog and website more personal and connects the reader to the author a little more.
Readership (there are any number of ways to investigate this. Here are a few to get you started:

The Best hobbies blog
Basic layout/design
At the top of this page you will find a home button in addition to a search bar. As projected in the picture above, this page is split into columns each containing various information. On the left you find a categorization of various blog posts that were written by topic they fall under. These categories are slightly misleading as some of his blog posts are under more than one which seems to give the illusion that he has created more posts then were actually created. The middle column has recent blog posts that get less recent as you scroll down the page. The left side of this page has a column that consists of information such as areas to follow or subscribe to the blog and popular posts that the blogger has posted. This blog actually has some videos which was interesting. I would not want my blog to be like this however because it is more just how to as well as life hacks. Not as personal as the other blogs on this page.
About page
Interestingly enough, I could not locate an about me page. There were no posts or information revealing who this blogger is. Even at the bottom of the post there is no username or picture. I can honestly say, I do not like not knowing anything about the author. It makes the content feel less reliable.
Advertisements
The only advertisement seen would be any of the brand named labels in any of the pictures that are included in the blog posts.
Links to other sites/companies
There is a link advertisement at the end of a lot of the posts, highlighting going on Audible.com to learn more or see a full video. This constant reference tells me that this author could potentially have some kind of business with Audible.com. This blog could potentially be promoting using audible services to further understand or work with the content covered. I feel it connects to the factual nature of this blog and makes it less reliable to the reader. It is more of a how to do certain things rather than someone's experience in doing the activity. Definitely not what I want for my blog as whole, but could be a aspect of my posts if I explain or describe what I did and how I did it to my audience.

A beautiful Mess
Basic layout/design
I find the layout and design of this particular blog very aesthetically pleasing. The colors and decor draw you in and organize/categorize the page very well. I really like the way that they display the content on their blog. The navigation tabs are various colors and look like tabs in a notebook or binder. The page is split into two columns. The right hand side contains the content of the page, arranged in an interesting and effective manner. Though some pages have the blog posts in this column there are anchor pages that link to other pages, designed with many links and pictures in one spot in a way that is not overwhelming to the viewer. The left hand side contains categories such as New Reader? which links to their about page for the blog as a whole and to each of the two founders individually. This aspect is one of the first things I noticed and is an effective way for new readers to get more information. As you scroll down the left side on the page has join their mailing list, archives by month and year, and links to other popular posts and content on their page.
About page
The about page of this blog is in depth as this blog is a tad different than the others I have researched up to this point. This blog has other staff members involved, who help post on the blog about various topics. Each of the staff members have a meet and greet section and there is also an overall about page that address the goals and inspiration for this particular blog. It provides a general goal with more specific aspects covered to help audiences reach that particular goal through the content available on their page. The whole blog seems reliable and thoroughly researched when compared to the others. It is home to a lot more information than the other blogs I have researched and has an online magazine vibe to it.
Advertisements and Links to other sites/companies
The website has a sponsorship page that lists advertising information for the reader. On this page they discuss some of the products and brands included such as Canon, Valspar, Adobe, and H&M. They state that they feel transparency with their readers is key so they list advertisement and any other affiliations. This tells you that they care about the reader and the companies they are working with and are working so both benefit from their website. They also have a press page that list where they have been published and highlighted in various forms with the content from their blog. They are all magazines that cover similar content to what can be found on their page which reinforces the type of audience they are aiming to reach.

Smile, kiddo.
Basic layout/design
This blog is laid out pretty much the same as the first two that I have found. The basic layout of this blog seems similar no matter which page you are looking at. It has a large header with the title “Smile Kiddo”, subheading even smaller and italicized, “If not now. When?” Directly beneath that is the navigation bar that is consistent on each page. The rest of the page is separated into two columns. The column on the left contains the content of the page, whether it be a full post or the list of new experiences completed, which are hyperlinked to a blogpost that talks about the experience. This blog also contains quite a few pictures. The blogposts are relatively longer than others I have viewed. This content is directly followed by the comments made about the posts. The column to the right contains various navigating tools including, links to social media, an area to follow the blog with email, archives month and year and blog stats.
About page
The about page for this blog was very interesting. It contains links to various information about the author. One link takes you to a file attached to the blog that has a bunch of information about the author as a person. Her first name, somethings she likes to do, new things she has been trying, what she used to do, things she doesn’t do anymore. Background information about her education as well as some facts about her life currently. One link takes you to a page that strictly covers why she decided to begin writing this blog. I really liked the setup of this about page.
Advertisements
There is one advertisement and it looks like one that changes and it is for something that I have bought before.
Links to other sites/companies (is this blog associated with other companies? and/or celebrities? What effect does this have on the blog content? What does this tell you about the larger purpose of the blog?)

Today's the day i
Basic layout/design
This page, like others, is split into two columns, the left side containing content and the right side containing search bar, subscription bar, social media links, blogs she likes, links to other companies websites, recent comments, categories and archives. On this particular page this set up is strange because the content on the right side of the blog go a lot further down the page then the content on the left side. Though I do like the pictures with the rollover captions and links, I think that she relied a tad bit to much on those. I would have enjoyed short snip bits of information with pictures rather than all roll over pictures but that is more of a personal preference. I do however like her header and navigation bar being in the top corner the way it is. I do think that the way that she covers her content is similar in nature to what I will be doing in my blog but only in the sense that it is personal experience doing these various new things.
About page
This author's about page contains both personal information and inspiration for her writing this blog and continuing longer than she originally planned. Her personal information is brief, focusing in on her work experience and briefly mentioning she came here from the UK. She does talk slightly about growing up in UK but again it is a small amount of information. I feel it is an appropriate amount of information without giving away too much about herself. Her experience and posts reveal more about her as she does more things. Her blog description is brief as well, giving the basics, just enough to spark interest in my opinion.
Advertisements
There are no advertisements apparent on this blog, although you can say that she advertises the places that she goes to but they are more suggestive recommendations than advertisements. She is more focused on her content and talking about her experiences.
Links to other sites/companies (is this blog associated with other companies? and/or celebrities? What effect does this have on the blog content? What does this tell you about the larger purpose of the blog?)
There are links to other blogs that cover other information similar to hers and links to two other companies. Brandbacker and Blog Meets Brand. Even after clicking on these links and looking around I am not exactly sure what they do.

Well I Never!
Basic layout/design
All of the pages linked to this blog are set up similarly. They consist of two columns, the one on the left covering content, such as recent posts and the left side contains a short description of the blog, a place to subscribe to the blog, recent posts, and archives. The blog design is kind of plain and the yellow is a lot to handle. Overall, not my favorite layout or design. It feels less interactive.
About page
Does not have an about page directly. This blog does have a page called "why I started this project" and it talk about the circumstance and inspiration for creating this blog. Reveals more of just for fun type of blog then an extremely serious blogger.

Basic layout/design
The content in this blog is organized into two columns. The left has posts and content and the right has info about author, sponsors, social media, top posts, recent posts, archives, subscription, and copyright. Navigation bar on this page is helpful and organizational. It is easy to learn more about the author whenever and she has a sponsors page to clarify the sponsors of her blog. I enjoy the arrangement of this particular blog.
About page
Author talks about her life and a little about her as well as her interests, inspiration for the blog and invites readers to reach out to her. Blogger reveals just enough information without over sharing.
Advertisements
This blog has a sponsors page as well as advertisements for a workout app of some kind. It is all relevant content to what is being spoken to in the contents of the post and throughout the blog.
Links to other sites/companies
This author does have links to other companies but they all seem to be nonprofits or charities. They do not seem like big business which paints the author in a different light.

Basic layout/design
This blog was particularly weird because when I clicked on the link to open it, it opened in the mobile version instead of the web version. I do like how she has a header with the title and then underneath she had one or two sentences just briefly talking about the blog. The web version of this blog is set up in two columns. The one on the left hand side includes blog posts and actual content. The column on the right side has a picture of the author and her complete profile link. Beneath that there is some more info about the author, her content and a like to her content. Then there is a link to follow her on her twitter, who likes her on Facebook, the site's archives and a section entitled labels. This blog is pretty much one single page and you can jump to various posts by clicking on a link from the archives section on the right hand side.
About page
If you click on her profile page you will find her gender, her industry, which is the arts, and where she is blogging from, which is New York. Under this section you can also find the blogs that she follows. If you click on the link on her page that says who am I? you are taken to a blank page so there really isn't any information about her as side from her gender, where she is and I guess industry would be her occupation.

Links to other sites/companies
This site does have a link to an online magazine called Bust, which is a magazine for women. It seems to be a very feminist magazine, which tells me that the author is a feminist or advocates for feminism. On her profile she also has links to the blogs that she likes as well as a link to an interview she did with CNN for an article about her blog.
